MATCH REPORT: 21-11-06 AWAY TO DIV.2 SPORTSMEN AT JOHNSON PARK 1/4 FINAL OF THE STAN SPARKS CUP With a slopping alley from right to left it took a while to adjust. But a really good cup game. We were down 12 and then crawled it back to within striking distance for a win but fell short by 4 pins, Neil needing a spare on the last hand and with his first ball taking the guts out had no chance. We lost but it was a great match to be apart of and good luck to the Sportmen in the Semi-final. Coll - 39 - 7, 7, 9, 3, 7, 6 - ‘Wonky Arm’ and ‘Fooking hell’ seem to be the only words that are spoken by Lee when he’s on the alley. Chaps - 37 - 6, 7, 3, 8, 6, 7 - Scratchings man at the halfway point and then pick his game up in the 2nd half Possibly dropped. Steve - 46 - 5, 7, 12, 9, 7, 6 - Tried his hardest to rally the troops for a win with an inspiring spare. Oldy - 39 - 6, 6, 7, 7, 6, 7 - ‘Coach’ Could not get used to the alley sloping from right to left when in 1980ish it sloped the other way. Brit - 53 - 8, 8, 8, 9, 13, 7 - Great skittling from Rob even with a barracking about his what he had to tea that night. Dex - 54 - 7, 14, 12, 8, 7, 6 - A double spare (including a flopper) helped him to the highest score of the night. Top Score.
